To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the signing of The Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation Between the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation, The Golden Thread of Art 2021 Russian-Chinese Exhibition of Fine Arts, which was sponsored by the Russian Academy of Folk Art, kicked off in Moscow recently. Five teachers from Weihai Vocational College submitted their works and received honorary certificates issued by the Academy, contributing their bits to the promotion of cultural exchange between China and Russia.

Mr. Victor Penzin, president of Russian Academy of Folk Art, expressed congratulations on the success of the exhibition and thanked the organizations on both Chinese and Russian sides that had supported the event. He stated that “The Golden Thread of Art” Russian-Chinese Exhibition of Fine Arts not only showcased the blending of both spiritual and cultural elements of China and Russia over the century, but also reflected the aspirations of people of both countries to jointly work towards a better future. He said the event had had positive and profound impact on continued efforts to strengthen links between the two cultures and deepen friendship between peoples of both countries.
Ms. Natalia Martynova, Dean of Art and Design College at Pacific National University in Russia, also chief organizer of the event, stated: “The year 2020 is a special year for the whole world. Over the past year, China-Russia relations, having withstood the test and trial of the great pandemic of the century and the changes it has brought, has made remarkable achievements, serving as a model of good-neighborliness, friendship, cooperation and development.To further the exchanges between the two cultures, “The Golden Thread of Art” Russian-Chinese Exhibition of Fine Arts will be held annually at different venues. We are working to make it possible for it to be held in China next year.”
“The Golden Thread of Art” Russian-Chinese Exhibition of Fine Arts
The Golden Thread of Art is an innovative program of international artists and educators, which aims to build a bridge between China and Russia, two countries with both a long history and a rich culture to hold cultural dialogues and deepen understanding between the two peoples. The program has got support from Moscow Central Committee of China Russia Friendship Association, China-Russia Friendship Association in Khabarovsk Region, and some colleges and universities in China, including Weihai Vocational College.
